by Malik Baba 2024. 1. 15.

The National Tax Service launched a simple service on the 15th that allows users to check income verification and tax deduction details for year-end tax settlement. Workers who make year-end tax settlements can check a total of 41 types of income and tax credit evidence on the National Tax Service's Hometax website. Data related to hometown love donations, movie tickets, employment insurance premiums, college entrance fees, and college admission fees will be provided for the first time this year. Medical expenses that are not tracked in the simple service can be reported to the reporting center by the 17th. Final data reflecting additional or revised data submitted by data submission organizations will be provided starting on the 20th.

A convenient year-end tax settlement service that provides tax saving information for office workers, including dual-income couples, will open on the 18th. Workers can calculate their estimated tax amount through a convenient year-end tax settlement service. Dual-income couples can simulate the combination of deductions for dependents such as children and parents and select the combination with the lowest tax burden. Starting this year, the deduction rate for public transportation expenses paid with credit cards will increase from 40% to 80%. The deduction rates for book, performance, and movie admission fees and traditional market expenses will also be increased from 30% to 40% and from 40% to 50%, respectively. Grandchildren of grandparents' families only received the basic deduction for direct descendants, but starting this year, they can also receive an additional child tax credit.

Homes eligible for monthly rent tax deductions have been expanded from 300 million won or less to 400 million won or less. You can deduct 15% of the college entrance fee and college entrance fee paid to employees and children eligible for basic deduction as education expenses. For hometown love donations, a tax deduction of up to 100/110 is possible for donations under 100,000 won, and for donations exceeding 100,000 won but less than 5 million won, a tax deduction of up to 15% is possible.

The National Tax Service explained that since the simple service provision data is data submitted by the receipt issuing agency, the worker must make the final decision as to whether the income and tax credit requirements are met. When a child turns 19 (born in 2004), the simple data provision service requested by parents ends. If parents wish to continue receiving their child's deduction data, the child must provide consent directly. Your child's education expenses may be omitted without your consent. To prevent this, the National Tax Service notified parents and children that the provision of data via mobile phone would end and that children would have to consent in person.

An official from the National Tax Service said, “We have posted reporting help materials such as guidebooks, videos, and calculation examples on the National Tax Service website so that year-end tax settlement can be done easily and accurately.” Please use it.”
